Boot Camp

Fitness is my passion and as such, I always strive to learn more and add things to my repertoire.  Recently I began teaching a boot camp at my neighborhood clubhouse.

Boot camp classes are a great way to push people beyond their limits.  The camaraderie is great and team effort really helps people work harder than they might during a normal routine at the gym.

During my boot camp classes, we strive to boost conditioning as well as strength training.  I’ve applied many of the techniques I’ve learned over the years from my studies including circuit training, TRX, stretching, plyometrics and more.

One of things I really like about leading boot camp classes is that I can change up the routines and bring variety to each session.  I love creating circuits that include both cardio and strength training exercises.  This challenges the entire body.

Typically my circuits will include a plyo box to work the legs, a TRX trainer and a speed and agility ladder.  But sometimes all we need to get a great workout is our bodyweight so push ups, squats, mountain climbers and burpees can add to the fun!

Boot camp classes can look intimidating, but you can always work at your own level.  And remember, it doesn’t get easier, you just get better!

Barre Babe

It’s been quite some time since I blogged on my website.  Boo me!  To be honest, I forgot my password.  Haha!

Truthfully, I’ve been busy the last several months training clients in their homes, at my studio in my new home and at Team Eckenrode in Rockville.  Fitness has always been my passion and I love helping my clients reach their goals.

Proudly I can say that I am now a certified instructor at Pure Barre.  Two years ago I began going to Pure Barre in King Farm to add some variety to my training regimen.  I fell in love with it.  For me, it was a change of pace from lifting weights and cardio.  I’ve also found that at Pure Barre there is such a great community of women all striving to improve their physique.  It’s so much fun with such great women.

I guess you could say I have become a Barre babe!  Haha!  I love the Pure Barre motto: Lift.  Tone.  Burn.  Come out and see me sometime.  I will be teaching at the King Farm location as well as the new location opening in Twinbrook.

I started working with Jessica in 2013 shortly after I got engaged to my husband.  Two years later I’m still working with Jessica through her online plans and I couldn’t recommend her more!2013-CandiceP

During my two year engagement, I spent a fair amount of time working on improving my health and achieving my fitness goals.  I had always been a person who was committed to the gym, but I lacked the real focus on my nutrition combined with a great workout plan.  While working with Jessica, she created individual fitness and nutrition plans that supported my goals.

Each month she would send me a new online plan and we communicated via emails and pictures constantly.  I was, and still continue to be, amazed at the creative variations of food and workouts in my monthly plans.  It’s never the same thing twice!

During these last two years, I have experienced positive changes in my body that I didn’t think were possible.  And when the countdown to my wedding began, Jess was right there and understood the stresses that come with preparing for the actual event while keeping an eye on the “finish line.”

With her experience in training and nutrition, I was able to meet my goals, feel great on my wedding day and honeymoon too!
